One of the most humbling—and inspiring—realizations about the work of our Health Science Center colleges and their faculty is that we are educating tomorrow’s health professionals and scientists. Who will they be 5 and 10 years from now? This is not so much a question about the kind of health care or science they will practice or conduct, but rather, who our students will be as people caring for other people. Quite apart from the influence of their education at the UF Health Science Center and any subsequent training as a resident or fellow, a major part of the answer to that question is rooted in who they are when they arrive.

Leading Alzheimer's researcher joins UF to fight brain diseases
A leader in the fight against brain diseases and in drug discovery to help Alzheimer's patients has joined the University of Florida College of Medicine, interim dean Michael Good, M.D., announced today.
Todd Golde, M.D., Ph.D., formerly the chairman of the department of neuroscience at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, will create and direct the College of Medicine's new Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease, Good said. H1N1 Vaccines to be available for HSC Faculty, Staff and Students
The University of Florida's Student Health Care Center Occupational Medicine clinic will hold an outreach clinic Friday to offer H1N1 flu vaccine at no cost to all health-care workers, faculty, staff and students in UF's Health Science Center.
