1st Annual Public Health Conference: "Cross-Cultural Perspectives for Public Health Professions"

This one-day event will focus on the status of key public health policies, problems, and interventions as they affect northern Florida. The conference includes a keynote speaker, concurrent sessions, and an interactive luncheon, with topics selected by area public health professionals. Because we face our public health challenges within a changing global environment, cross-cultural perspectives will be highlighted in every session. The conference will also provide numerous opportunities for practicing public health professionals and UF public health faculty and students to network and share ideas for future collaborations.
Topics will include:
- President Obama’s plans: effects on health and health systems in north central Florida
- Community partnerships
- Obesity interventions
- Health Education and Health Promotion
- Emerging pathogens
- Hooka use in Florida
- Evaluation of population-based services
